• All-city performer who set school records in the breaststroke and freestyle.

Manny Figueroa is a 4-year letterman in swimming who specialized in whatever event his coach Dave Goodman asked him to swim.  Manny set school records in the 400 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and the 400 freestyle relay.  He was the team captain in 1967, a season when the Explorers finished with a 9-1 record.

After leaving Columbus, Manny became an All-American swimmer at Miami Dade South in the butterfly.  He earned a scholarship to Eastern New Mexico University where we swam for two years.

Today, Manny remains active in alumni activities here at Columbus.  He has served on the school’s Board of Directors and is the Chairman of the finance committee.

Manny is a certified public accountant.  He and his wife Stephanie have two daughters.
