Edward Morse (’89) – Swimming & Diving
Edward Morse graduated from Columbus in 1989 as the most successful diver in the school’s history. He was a three-time state champion — in fact, he won the state championship his first three years here but did not win as a senior because he was competing in China with the United States Junior National Team.
While attending Columbus Edward was one of this country’s most outstanding junior divers.
He won 12 United States junior championships and he won two World Diving championships. He went on to become the youngest member of the senior national team and twice competed in the United States Olympic Team Trials. During his junior year at Columbus, Edward finished 10th in the Olympic Team trials. Four years later, he finished 5th.
Edward was awarded a diving scholarship to the University of Alabama and later transferred to the University of Miami where he completed his diving career.
Today, Edward lives in Madrid, Spain and is a champion of a different kind. He is considered one of the most accomplished bass guitar players in the world he has toured and recorded with several bands. He has worked in reggae, blues, funk, soul and hip-hop.
Tonight, he is performing in a sold out concert in Pam-plona, Spain playing bass guitar for the most popular Spanish Raggae artist in the world – a band called “Morodo.”
