Brian was a two-year starter at quarterback for Columbus and was first team all-county as a senior.  He had the misfortune of having his senior season cut short by three games because of Hurricane Andrew, but that did not stop Brian from garnering attention from several college football powers.

Brian also was a standout as a golfer and basketball player at Columbus and was named the school’s Athlete of the Year for 1993.

Brian accepted a scholarship to the University of Michigan where he became a fixture as a starting quarterback and an all Big 10 performer.  He helped the Wolverines to a victory in the 1998 Rose Bowl.

Brian played 11 seasons in the National Football League – the longest NFL career of any Explorer.

Over those 11 years, Brian started 83 games including four straight seasons for the Denver Broncos.

Brian threw for 19,440 yards and 119 touchdowns.
